Oh my god what a night!!!
First of all, I wanna say that I had one of the best times in my
life at the 6-1 show in Vegas. My friend and I were standing (fighting
to stand) in the second row behind the barrier. It was about 1/3 of the
way through the concert when the lovely CL looked right at me and said
into the mic "Your cute." Needless to say, I was shocked. I looked at
my friend and said "Did you see that?" He did.
Anyway, then she started spraying the crowd with her water. When
she finished, she threw the bottle at me, but it hit my friend in the
face instead. It was great, I laughed. So I had heard of all the girls
being pulled onto stage, and there were already like 15 or so up there,
but I am a guy, and I'm pretty tall, so from reading past postings, I
thought I had no chance. After the next song, CL starts staring at me
again and says "God, you are really cute, I mean you are sexy." And I
was thinking like...what the fuck, this is a dream, I don't know what is
going on here. Anyway, she asks if I wanna come onstage, and I was like
"YYEEEAAAAHH!!!" So the security helped me across never never land and
there I was standing next to her on the stage. So I did the natural
thing and gave her a hug. Pretty soon a roadie made me sit down, but I
was already freaking. So there I was the only guy, sitting right behind
Melissa for the rest of the concert, which by the way, ruled. By the
way, Melissa has a really nice butt, I had a close up for a long time.
Eric was crusing around with a Heineken and I wanted some, but I
couldn't get his attention, and I didn't want to be a freak and get
kicked out.
I was reading the earlier posting about the setlist, and its totally
wrong. They didn't play any of those older songs except for POTI.
Courtney held the mike out to the audience and the whole place was like
"Slut, piss, girl, etc...." That was cool.
Here is my recollection of the setlist as best I can remember:
Old Age/Violet
I wish I could have seen Erics picking pattern on Northern Star,
though. I am trying to learn it. After the concert, I grabbed a couple
of Melissa and Courtneys picks off the mic stand, Courtneys are pretty
standard soft nylon, but Melissas are white with a red canadian leaf on
one side and her autograph on the other.
I live in Washington State, and I flew down just to see them, it was
so awesome. I am still pinching myself to see if it was a dream. If
anyone out there has a bootleg or video of the show, I am totally
interested. I am gonna see them in Vancouver BC on July 14. I can't
fuckin' wait!!!
p.s.-Queens of the stone age were good, but their shitty sound system
mixed with the mic being too low made them sound like shit.
